Abstract:

This paper investigates practical modelling approach to analyze masonry infill walls that have relatively large openings because equivalent strut model has a limitation for such configurations. In many recent seismic evaluation, openings significantly affect the overall performance of the buildings so that engineering justification in modeling is crucial. Load-displacement curve of the modified strut model and wall element model are compared with experiment results
